A friend was moving and trying to get rid of things. I was the lucky person who happened to be in town that day!
She gave me this neat old grain sack.
I took an Ikea pillow insert and pinned the fabric around it.
It then sat on my couch with the pins for several weeks...
Today I sewed it up and now it's good to go. I love the colors and graphics!
Thanks for your visit!

That is really pretty. Old grain sacks have such charm. We have an old one that is still intact. Used to have it hanging on the wall, now in the closet. Guess I should do something with it. It isn't nearly as colorful as yours, though.
ReplyDeleteOh nice snag! I want a grain sack and you scored a good one. I actually kind of like the pins it in. Kind of gives it a vintage-industrial look. ReplyDeleteIt actually brought back some fond memories. In the 70s when we lived in Jamaica, flour sacks were commonly used for household curtains. One of our friends was always looking for a way to make a buck. He bought up a ton of flour sacks and sewed them into Dashiki like shirts to sell to the tourists.
Oh, how I wish I had brought back some flour sacks.
How adorable! It's just perfect for that size and shape! I love pillows!
ReplyDeleteI love this grain sack--it was perfect to be a pillow. I have never seen one like it.
