Have You Discovered Uncommon Goods?

Boy has this year flown by.  With the holidays quickly approaching, I was thrilled to come across Uncommon Goods.  At Christmas, I'm on the lookout for gifts for friends and co-workers.  What fun to find a place that offers so many unique gifts!  Uncommon Goods has tons of handmade gifts.  And I love that all of their products are produced without harm to animals.

I love birdhouses.  I am a sucker for all birdhouses...  This site has the cutest LadyBug Castle (that looks like a birdhouse) that I can't wait to put in my yard.  Ladybugs are essential to any garden and having a safe place for them to lay their eggs sounds perfect to me!

I will have to get a couple of these Garden in a Can sets!  (I'm now quite aware that if I find something that I absolutely love that I'm buying for a friend, I might as well avoid the internal struggle and buy two--one for me and one for her!)   Since it's going to snow here this week, I need to grow my herbs in the house.  These would be so cute in my kitchen (and hers!)

I have friends who are moving into their new house in a few weeks.  I love this Cheese & Cracker Board for their Housewarming gift. I think it'd be an item that they'd use for years to come.

Or maybe this Tulip Tree Kit.  This would be so fun to watch the tree (and their little kids) grow up!

Thanks for your visit!  I hope you'll visit Uncommon Goods

I received compensation from Uncommon Goods; however, all my opinions are my own.

Keeping Holiday Wrapping Simple

I love the simplicity of wrapping gifts in kraft paper.  And I love gingham ribbons and bakers twine.  Add those together and I have my Christmas wrapping all set up.

Instead of wrapping everything in the same pattern, I use different combinations for different people--that way I don't even have to worry about tags.  (It also keeps everyone wondering which gifts belong to which person)  :)

And for a glimpse on what's happening outside our front door this Christmas...

Special Gifts from a Special Friend

A few years ago, I was on the Rate My Space site and met some really talented people.  Heather, who was one of the most talented ladies on there, happened to live a couple of hours from me.  After getting to know each other through our garden postings, she invited me to an antique show in her area.  Another friend and I headed the 100 miles to meet her in person and shop, shop, shop.  We had a great time!  Soon after that, my husband took a job 800 miles away, so we moved.  Well, luckily, our son decided to go to college in the same town she lives in!  Now every time we visit our son, I get to spend time with Heather!  Her home and garden are absolutely gorgeous and she knows the best shopping places in the area. Colby Cottage and Treaures from the Heart Blog are two favorites that she's introduced me to.

Today I received a box full of gifts for my birthday from Heather.  Oh, she knows me so well!!

A nest and eggs. I love the materials underneath it.

I think it looks great on this old scale.  Now if I can keep the cat from playing with the eggs...

I love this old fan!

She sent this mini cake plate.  I like how it holds another nest perfectly.

This ruffled terra cotta pot is so cute!

This is one of the gifts she sent me for Christmas.  Perfect!

We laugh that we started out as friends who met on the internet!  She is one of the nicest, most generous people I've ever met.  Thank goodness for the internet.  :)

Thank you for your visit.

Blogger Gift Exchange Party

My good blogging friend Brandi from Don't Disturb This Groove asked me to participate in a party she was hosting.  She asked that each blogger pick another blogger and exchange gifts.  What a fun idea!  I immediately thought of Dee from A Lapin Life as we enjoy each others posts and seem to like a lot of the same things.  Well, my package arrived the other day and let me just say that Dee nailed it!!

Even though it was still in the box, I knew I'd love everything!

A bird cage out of chicken wire?  Absolutely perfect!!

Look at these tags!  I love the intricate cuts on the ones on the right and the size and graphics of the ones on the left.

I love it on a shelf in my dining room.

Thanks so much to Brandi for hosting the party and to Dee for the perfect gifts!  This blogging journey has brought so much joy to my life!  :)

Now please go visit Brandi's  blog for even more fun!

Thanks for your visit!
