Flour and Rice Sack Pillows

I found a couple of colorful flour and rice bags at garage sales last year.  I think I paid $1 each for them.  I finally broke down and bought a new sewing machine the other day, so today I made pillows out of them.  It was super easy and a fun way to add some color to my rooms.

Here's what I started with.

I cut them down a bit to get as much of the graphics as possible while keeping them a good size for pillows.  With the rice bag, I put in a Pottery Barn insert and it fit perfectly.

With the Turkey Flour (???)  What the heck is Turkey Flour anyway?  :)  With the Turkey (Brand)  Flour bag, I used batting and filled it.

Now I've got a couple new neat pillows for very little money.  My kind of decorating!  :)

Thanks for your visit!

  4. Turkey Brand Flour comes from The Lehi Roller Mill in Lehi, UT. They sell many wonderful products. My favorite is their 6 grain breakfast cereal. I have an adorable apron made from one of the flour sacks. Now I'll have to make pillows, love yours. Thanks for sharing.
